Shape the Future of Retail through Business-Driven Architecture As the Business Architect, you will play a key role in aligning business needs with technology capabilities to drive digital transformation across Home Hardwares cloud and on-premise environments. Youll lead the design, analysis, and planning of enterprise solutions across our retail systems landscape including Merchandising, Finance, Supply Chain, and Store Operations. Reporting to the Manager, Business Solutions, this opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented and strategically minded professional eager to shape impactful solutions.   • Translate complex business requirements into clear, scalable, and actionable solution designs and system workflows.
  • Act as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business needs are accurately reflected in solution roadmaps.
  • Lead the analysis and optimization of end-to-end retail processes across:
    • Merchandising & Inventory Management
    • Supply Chain & Logistics
    • Store Operations (POS, Inventory, Loyalty)
    • Retail Finance (AP, AR, GL, Forecasting)
  • Support and guide solution design across in-store platforms, ensuring smooth integration into a centralized Host environment.
  • Develop and maintain key business architecture artifacts, including business capability maps, process models, and current/future state architecture diagrams.
  • Generate clear, detailed and well-structured project charters and functional documentation based on business and technical input.
  • Leverage Azure DevOps for managing workstreams, user stories, releases, and documentation.
  • Utilize Microsoft Fabric and Power Platform tools for process automation, reporting, and low-code solution development.
  • Stay informed on AI/ML trends in retail and identify opportunities to enhance automation, customer engagement, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Work within hybrid cloud/on-premise environments, ensuring system integrity, scalability, and compliance with enterprise standards.
Were looking for:
  • A Diploma in Business Systems, Information Systems or related field. Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP) is a plus.
  • Five to eight years of experience in business architecture, business analysis, or solution design within a retail or enterprise environment.
  • Strong domain expertise across core retail functions Merchandise, Finance, Supply Chain, and In-Store Operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating Host systems with Warehouse Management, Ecommerce platforms, and in-store solutions such as POS, Loyalty, and Inventory systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft technologies, including Azure DevOps, Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar retail ERP platforms.
  • A solid understanding of Agile / SAFe methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud and on-premise architecture models, and hybrid deployment strategies.
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills able to bridge business and technical perspectives effectively.
  • Experience generating comprehensive project charters, business cases, and solution recommendations.
  • Awareness of AI applications in retail such as intelligent automation, demand forecasting, and predictive analytics.
  • A flexible, results-oriented approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • The ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.
