- Travel to job sites across New Jersey.
- Work under the direction of a Project Manager to inspect beams, draw sketches, and create drawings.
- Conduct site surveys and inspections; participate in site walkthroughs with Project Engineers and Inspectors to determine drafting requirements.
- Write detailed reports on site findings.
- Collaborate with engineers to develop repair plans and specifications.
- Work alongside Professional Engineers and Licensed Architects to build cases against contractors.
- Use AutoCAD to draft and design drawings for future construction repairs.
- Utilize Bluebeam for data entry.
- Navigate and operate CAD software effectively.
- Degree in Structural Engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to draft and design structural projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience in site analysis report writing.
- Background in building-related engineering.
- Ability to communicate independently with clients.
- Experience in insurance claims, site investigation, and root cause analysis.
The firm offers a low turnover rate, and leisure activities such as Xbox, ping pong, and Friday BBQs are common. Office hours are 8-5, with some evening meetings required for senior engineers. Employees receive a laptop and cellphone, with optional work-from-home days and flexibility encouraged. The role involves traveling to various job sites in New Jersey, including Hudson County, Secaucus, Princeton/Plainsboro, and Long Branch/Asbury Park.
