HSIO Engineering Technician

Location: Etters, PA office

Summary: The HSIO Engineering Technician will be responsible for supportingHSIO connector and OverPass product and process development, customerprototypes, test samples coordination, and fixture development, data collection,design variations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure project deadlinesare met.Read and interpret technical drawings and schematicsAbility to create test fixtures using CAD softwareAbility to make product design modifications to facilitate customer specificrequestCoordinate and build mock-ups to facilitate product designs.Use machine shop tools like mills, drills, and other hand tools to modifyparts and tools.Make test reports and customer presentations using Microsoft Office softwareConduct testing, record data and present results.Preform electrical testing, including Low Level Contact Resistance (LLCR)Organize and prepare product and tooling for testingMaintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with safety andquality standards.Work with mechanical and SI test labs in the completion of mechanical andsignal integrity tests.All assignments must be completed in a safe manner in compliance withaccepted engineering standards with minimal or no supervision.Prepare high-speed cables for testing.

Requirements:

Associate's degree or certificate from college or technical school; or threeto six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience.A minimum of (1) year of practical experience in connector and/or cableassembly manufacturing is preferred.Strong attention to detailsExperience with using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorksFamiliarity with 3D printingFamiliar with Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPointOther software such as MiniTab is a plusReading and interpreting mechanical drawing printsStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or aspart of a team.Ability to read and understand technical schematics and instructions.Familiarity with machine shop tools like Milling machines, drills, taps andother hand tools.Ability to make accurate and repeatable measurements using tool makersmicroscope or other high precision measurement equipmentExcellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.Ability to work under a stereoscopeExperience in soldering electronic components with a strong attention todetail is a plus.Soldering certification is preferred (e.g., IPC J-STD-001 orequivalent).Familiarity with various soldering techniques and equipment.Soldering of wires
