Summary of Position:
The CNC Machine Operator I is an integral member of the Fabrication Team responsible for machining projects while maintaining quality craftsmanship to ensure that projects are delivered on time. This individual must have knowledge of machining and fabrication and will receive on the job training to establish a clear understanding of the procedures and safe operation of the machining equipment in accordance with Liberty standards. This individual is also expected to be self-motivated and eager to learn more about a career in fabrication and manufacturing.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation & Valid Driver's License
- Must possess a high level of mechanical aptitude and an understanding of mechanical building techniques.
- Must be Safety Conscious and expected to wear proper PPE.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials when necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Part Preparation: sanding parts that come off the CNC cutting tables.
- Understands and operates some of the CNC equipment including the CNC Waterjet, CNC Laser Table, CNC Press Brake, and various CNC Milling machines in accordance with safe operating procedures and complete machine comprehension.
- Accurately executes varying cut lists utilizing shop cutting equipment such as a bandsaw.
- Stocks raw materials as shipments come in.
- Practices and maintains acceptable behavior in line with Liberty's safety regulations, company policies and operating procedures.
- Confidently drives a light-duty pickup/vehicle for in-town parts runs.
- Willingness to work beyond regular shop hours when the project demands it.
- Assists team members on varying projects and equipment.
- Required to have a basic to moderate set of hand tools and fabrication tools to facilitate the job duty requirements of a Fabricator I.

- Must learn to read and comprehend designs using a tablet 3D CAD viewer.
- Includes knowing how to access the file/drawing, manipulate the image on-screen, and extract measurements.
- Must be capable of safely machining, grinding, torching, cutting, measuring, and fitting parts to within acceptable tolerances.

Working Conditions/Environment:
- It is a mixture of a working fabrication shop environment as well as an outdoor environment when the project demands it.
- Expect general shop conditions and working near manufacturing equipment including, but not limited to welders, forklifts, grinders, CNC Waterjet machine, CNC plasma machines, CNC Laser Table, Machining Equipment (Mills & Lathes), hydraulic press break and assorted power tools.
- At times the environment can be noisy, dusty, dirty and employee may be asked to routinely lift heavy fabricated weldments.
- Must be prepared to adapt to changing weather conditions when expected to work in outdoor environment.
Salary:
$26/Hr - $36/Hr
Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
