Job Description

Join a dynamic team responsible for the electronics design of aerospace embedded products. This role involves working with microcontrollers, FPGAs, power supplies, protection, output drivers, and sensor signals circuitry. You will be tasked with designing schematics, controlling subsystems such as BLDC motors and actuators, and working from customer requirements and statements of work to determine systems and hardware requirements. Additionally, you will prepare design documentation, project schedules, and test reports, ensuring designs are suitable for rugged environments with extended temperatures, EMC, ESD, and vibration. Your role will also involve component selection and derating for high reliability in severe environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design electronics for aerospace embedded products, including microcontrollers and FPGAs.
  • Develop schematics and circuit designs.
  • Control subsystems such as BLDC motors and actuators.
  • Determine systems and hardware requirements from customer requirements and statements of work.
  • Prepare design documentation, project schedules, and test reports.
  • Design for rugged environments with considerations for temperature, EMC, ESD, and vibration.
  • Select components and perform derating for high reliability.
  • Generate test software for hardware design validation.
  • Create detailed bills of materials and assist in sourcing electronic components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical device problems efficiently.
  • Collaborate with PCB Layout Engineers to provide recommendations.
Essential Skills
  • 2-year degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
  • 15+ years of circuit design experience for embedded aerospace or vehicular systems.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Proficiency in embedded microcontrollers.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • Effective communication skills for both internal and external interactions.
  • Ability to create technical proposals and presentations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering is strongly desired.
  • Experience in BLDC motor or FADEC design.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as automotive, military, or industrial electronics.
  • Knowledge of FPGA and networking drivers.
  • Experience with high power systems.
Work Environment

This position requires onsite work with one work-from-home day per week. The work involves engaging with high-profile electronics projects, including collaborations with notable companies and exciting ventures such as an EV helicopter project.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62.50 - $72.12/hr.
