Role: Quantity Surveyor Projects (South West Region) Location: Bristol- MOD Abbey Wood Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: 52,000 Company Car/Car Allowance Benefits Support High-Impact Construction Projects Across the Defence Estate An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Projects Team supporting refurbishment and new build works across the South West. Based in Bristolwith regular attendance required at MOD Abbey Woodthis role is ideal for candidates within a commutable distance and ready to take a hands-on role in delivering critical infrastructure projects. The Role Youll be involved in a diverse portfolio of projects across defence sites in the region, delivering vital support in cost estimation, project planning, and commercial oversight. Your responsibilities will include: Estimating costs, quantities, and timelines for multiple concurrent projects Supporting internal teams with pricing, documentation, and stakeholder liaison Developing cost models, performing risk analysis, and contributing to proposal preparation Advising the Billable Works Team on cost implications and commercial strategy Attending risk and progress meetings with the Senior Leadership Team Ensuring compliance with statutory and company policies in health and safety, sustainability, and quality Driving continuous improvement and supporting change initiatives You will be expected to work on 34 live projects at any given time, maintaining a strong commercial overview and ensuring value for money across the lifecycle of each project. What Youll Need HND/Foundation Degree (or equivalent experience) in Quantity Surveying Background in construction and/or commercial property maintenance Proven experience in cost modelling, risk management, and dispute resolution Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills Ability to manage a varied workload and multiple project streams concurrently Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the South West Eligibility for SC (Security Clearance) vetting This role is ideal for either an experienced Quantity Surveyor or a capable Assistant QS looking to step up into a broader and more autonomous role within a high-impact sector.
