JOB DESCRIPTION

WAGE/HOUR STATUS:Non-Exempt
>SALARY RANGE :$24.25 - $33.49
Minimum - MaximumPAY GRADE:AP-09
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, and comfortable environment by supervising-the operation, maintenance, and compliance of all electrical systems in the District.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school graduate or GED
Masters License required
Must have a valid Texas driver's license and be insurable
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Able to read blueprints and schematics
Ability to manage crews of workmen
Must be able to distinguish colors
Experience:
Five years experience in electrical field as a master electrician
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Provides overall supervision of all electrical personnel
Maintains all electrical systems in good working condition.
Receives and assigns all electrical work orders to electricians; Ensure that all work orders are successfully completed and submitted to office staff in a timely manner.
Responsible for the safety training of others an ensure crews are practicing latest safety measures to perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others; and report accidents immediately
Assists in the purchase of materials and the maintaining of adequate records of all purchases.
Secures materials for completion of work orders assigned, department requisitions, maintain adequate inventory of supplies for completion of work orders assigned
Works in conjunction with other Maintenance Supervisor to complete projects assigned to the Maintenance Department.
Responsible for the safe operation of all electrical systems in the district.
Ensures vehicles, equipment, and tool boxes are locked and secure at all times while vehicle is left unattended.
Performs other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Trenching machine, aerial lift, electric hand tools, small hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, sockets, pliers, crimpers, wire cutters, etc.), hand saws, power tools, drills, jacks, and lift equipment
Vehicle and related equipment:
District Vehicle, Light van or truck seat belts, shoulder harness, safety equipment (flares, reflective signs), fire extinguisher, radio communication equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:
Ability to concentrate, communicate effectively (verbal and written), interpret, reason, read, compute, instruct and maintain emotional control under stress; ability to handle several projects at the same time with frequent interruptions
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Ability to frequently lift and carry heavy weights (45 pounds and over), sitting, standing, walking, climbing (stairs, ladder, scaffold, or ramps), balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speech, visual acuity, distinguishing colors, frequent driving and traveling, exposure to temperature extremes (hot or cold), exposure to humidity extremes, exposures to noise, exposure to low or intense illumination, exposure to vibration, exposure to microwaves, exposure to biological hazards (Communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.), exposure to chemical hazards (asbestos, fumes, vapors, gases, dust, smoke, etc.), exposure to electrical hazards, work outside, prolonged exposure to sunlight, work with hands in water, work around moving object or vehicles, work around machinery with moving parts, work on slippery surfaces, work on uneven surfaces, work alone, work prolonged or irregular hours
