Position Overview: The primary focus of this role will be to act in a field leadership role and lead a field survey team, overseeing and performing land and construction surveys for various projects. They ensure accurate data collection, manage crew operations, and coordinate with project managers to meet project goals and deadlines. The duties will include assisting in survey production in the field and in the office. Primary Responsibilities: Manage two or more-person survey crew to complete field survey tasks as required. Follow required safety standards and guidelines set by the company and clients. Maintain survey equipment in operational condition and applicable calibration checks. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to define project needs and timelines. Communicate effectively with crew members to delegate tasks and provide technical guidance. Prepare and submit detailed field notes, sketches, and reports. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Four (4) years' experience in surveying and two (2) years' experience as a Survey Crew Chief required. Two or more years of college or technical training within the surveying profession, Surveyor-In-Training certificate or a Professional Surveyor's license is preferred. Working knowledge of conventional, robotic, and GPS related surveying equipment. Capable of directing and mentoring crew members and client interaction. Capable of performing basic calculations utilizing calculator or supplied data collectors. Working knowledge of uploading and downloading digital files with computer skills. Ability to travel occasionally for overnight stays. Ability and willingness to perform daily field work in various climates, weather and environmental conditions. Excellent Communication Skills.
