Senior Mechanical Engineer

Position Summary: The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the design and coordination of HVAC systems for a variety of complex building projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, project leadership, and client-facing skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing design development, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring high-quality deliverables through all project phases. Key Responsibilities: Lead the mechanical design of HVAC systems for diverse building types including high-rise commercial, interior renovations, data centers, and healthcare facilities. Conduct and review system load calculations, equipment selection, and energy modeling. Prepare and oversee the development of construction documents including drawings, specifications, and schedules. Manage project timelines, budgets, and coordination with other disciplines (electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and structural). Attend client meetings, coordinate with architects and consultants, and represent the firm in project discussions. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and intermediate engineers. Participate in construction administration activities including site visits, submittal reviews, and RFI responses. Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, industry standards (ASHRAE, LEED), and project requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. 7+ years of HVAC systems design experience, ideally within an MEP consulting environment. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (not required). Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required; familiarity with energy modeling tools (e.g., Trace 700, HAP) is a plus. Strong project management, coordination, and communication skills. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
