Cost Estimator

Role: Sr. Estimator Location: Draper, Utah Job Type: Fulltime Job Summary: Seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates primarily for commercial parking structures, large-scale concrete footings, and foundations. Additional responsibilities may include estimating for commercial vertical construction projects such as apartment complexes and office buildings. Key Responsibilities: Analyze proposal specifications, review construction drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and estimate requirements. Develop accurate cost estimates through quantity take-offs, pricing of materials, labor, and equipment based on project scope. Reference and analyze historical data such as purchase orders, subcontractor quotes, and productivity reports to inform current and future estimates. Assist in the preparation and development of bid packages and supporting estimate documentation. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field from an accredited four-year college, technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 8 years of commercial/industrial estimating experience, including projects such as wastewater treatment facilities, large water tanks, and multi-level parking structures. Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical documents, contracts, and specifications. Experience responding to inquiries from clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders within the business community. Proficient in bottom-up estimating techniques and experienced in using Bid2Win estimating software. Strong mathematical skills, including knowledge of fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, and geometric formulas for calculating area, volume, and other take-off metrics. Solid understanding of cost control, estimating methodologies, and current material pricing practices.
