JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Title: Pipefitter Location of Position:

Bay Shipbuilding Department: Pipefitter Position Type: Full-Time;

Permanent; Non-Exempt Reports To: Foreman Position Summary: This

position is responsible for pipefitter equipment, parts, interiors and

exteriors of ships, and shipyard buildings at our vast, 63-acre

facility. Detailed Description: Follows directions under intermittent

supervision. Cut, thread, or bend pipes to specifications. Lay out full

scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, or related equipment,

according to blueprints. Assemble or secure pipes, tubes, fittings, or

related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, or

threading joints. Measure and mark pipes for cutting or threading.

Inspect, examine, or test installed systems or pipe lines, using

pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods. Plan

pipe system layout, installation, or repair, according to

specifications. Attach pipes to walls, structures, or fixtures. Modify,

clean, or maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, or related machines or

equipment. Cut or bore holes in structures. Install automatic controls

to regulate pipe systems. Shut off steam, water, or other gases or

liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches. Remove and

replace worn components. Operate motorized pumps to remove water from

flooded manholes, basements, or facility floors. Diagnose and solve

problems of all kinds. Troubleshoot problems with all equipment as it

arises. Proper storage of equipment. May be assigned miscellaneous tasks

outside craft as required. Attendance is an essential function of the

job. Ability and willingness to engage in highly energetic pursuits on

the waterfront. Maintain a commitment to and promote the Quality and

policies and procedures. Physical Job Demands: At least two times a day

carry a 50lb bucket of tools and supplies to and from job site,

including but not limited to, walking up to 500\', climbing ladders /

stairs, and crawling through 34\" inner bottoms and through an 18\"x24\"

lightening hole. Occasionally carry 2\" pipe to job site by lifting
