DLZ Currently has a Structural Engineer opportunity in Lansing, MI.

Duties: Perform civil engineering, construction, and design assignments of a limited nature with a focus on structural projects, requiring a solid grasp of structural engineering theory and the exercise of professional judgment. Perform analyses and design required for minor structures, systems and equipment items. Prepare sketches and diagrams for use by technicians. Review and check detailed drawings and layouts. Assist in the preparation of reports, economic and technical feasibility studies, and studies aimed at evaluating alternative systems, equipment, materials or engineering methods. Coordinate with other engineers and technical support staff in the preparation of detailed drawings; review and check finished drawings. Assist in the preparation of contract specifications and special provisions. Assist in the preparation of construction cost estimates. Assist in the preparation of proposals. Review contractor's shop drawing submittals. Perform construction monitoring. Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. 2 semester courses or 6 months of experience in each of the following (may be concurrent with education): Analysis and design of reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures; AASHTO or similar for bridge design specifications; Civil3D/Revit or OpenRoads Designer; Mathcad or MATLAB.
