Job Description
JOB REQUIREMENTS: TITLE: Structural Engineer Professional Intermediate
(Req \# 25987) Bridge design projects plus perform design for all
structural aspects of transportation projects on local, state, regional,
national, and global projects. Part of diverse multi-discipline teams in
the delivery of transportation planning and design, and highway design
projects. Prepare preliminary and final plans for Bridges (Vehicular,
Pedestrian, and Railroad), Retaining Walls, Overhead Sign Structures,
and Reinforced Concrete Box Culverts. Per the governing code, conduct
structural analysis and create design computations for Bridges,
Retaining Walls, Overhead Sign Supports and Reinforced Concrete Box
Culverts. Detail concrete reinforcement. Calculate bid item quantities
and create cost estimates. Perform Bridge Rating calculations and
determine rehabilitation requirements. Telecommuting is allowed.
\*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a
Master\'s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering (emphasis in
structural engineering) or related field and 3 years of work experience
in the job offered or a closely related occupation in the structural
engineering. In Lieu of the requirements listed above, employer will
accept a Bachelor\'s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering
(emphasis in structural engineering) or related field and 5 years of
work experience in the job offered or a closely related occupation in
the structural engineering. Special Skills or Other Requirements:
expertise/ knowledge of: 1. Design of Steel members using AISC
code/standards. 2. Design of Concrete using ACI code/standards. 3.
Finite Element Analysis 4. Design of Prestressed concrete using
ACI/AASTHO code/standards 5. Structural design analysis programs such as
Staad Pro, Ansys, 6. General civil design software such as CIVIL 3d or
similar 7. General drafting software such as AutoCAD or similar 8.
Prepare project design documents/ report for client submission. 9.
