Large utility is looking for an Electrical I&C Project Engineer in MI (Jackson, Livonia, or other regional offices, hybrid schedule). Candidates need to have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar degree, and relevant experience. The Electrical I&C Project engineer is responsible for supporting Instrumentation & Controls projects by coordinating consultant work, preparing scopes and requisitions, reviewing technical designs and RFIs, and ensuring quality and schedule compliance using analytical, communication, and project management skills. responsibilities:
  • Supports design of new substation construction and upgrades to existing facilities.

  • Focuses on I&C schematics, wiring diagrams, AC/DC load studies, procurement, and construction support.

  • Supports project execution throughout the capital project lifecycle.

  • Creates and maintains Scope of Work (SOW) documents.

  • Develops Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for engineering services.

  • Establishes and tracks project milestones (e.g., 30/60/90 design reviews).

  • Reviews and processes consultant invoices.

  • Provides technical design reviews and support for Requests for Information (RFIs).

  • Leads and participates in meetings with consultants to ensure project targets are met.

  • Tracks and improves key performance indicators (KPIs), including quality and schedule adherence.
Skills:

  • Relevant industry experience required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.

  • strong skills in analysis, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
