Mechanical Lab Coordinator and Fabricator

Manpower Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Test Lab Coordinator to work onsite in our Louisville, KY client's test lab. S omeone with a technical mindset who can be trained. Long-term contract opportunity (indefinite duration). Great opportunity to learn, grow, make an input, be part of a team!

Essential Job Responsibilities

• This role is responsible for directing all laboratory activities, coordinating with engineers
• Will be trained in thermal chamber operation and datal acquisition system, coordinating with vendors as needed to ensure operational lab equipment. Develop expertise in lab functions and equipment.
• Collaborate with team to conduct testing, collaborate with engineering teams to develop and refine test procedures. Monitor testing. Collect data from tests and develop reports.
• Develop and maintain internal test procedures that comply with agency regulations, educating global teams on requirements and working closely with Regulatory Engineers.
• Manage laboratory consumables and inventory - unpack units that are shipped in and enter into LIMS inventory system
• Contribute to the lab team with prototyping and building test fixtures which could involve metalworking, woodworking, 3D printing, band saw, benders, plasma table, etc.
• Actively participate in technical project reviews, including service, safety, and installation assessments.

Background that could be a fit:

• High school vocational experience
• New or recent tech school grad - Mechanical technical certificate or mechanical technician degree program
• Someone with some trade experience such as HVAC/refrigeration service technician
• Someone with a technical mindset who can be trained

Job Skills

• Hands on mechanical experience
• Hands-on ability to prototype.
• Strong desire to learn with ability to be self-taught.
• Good Communication skills both written and verbal.
• Good problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks appropriately.
• A self-starter and self-disciplined in accomplishing tasks can ask questions, find answers.
• Demonstrated computer skills (MS Office)
