JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Plumber Journeyman 1 DEPARTMENT: Mechanical Plumbing
REPORTS TO: Zone ACE
General Summary: Plumber Jouneyman1 must possess and actively apply the knowledge of plumbing system including domestic water and related devices, sanitary waste systems, Steam systems high and low pressure and their devices, is proficient in problem solving skills and is capable of independently perform troubleshooting functions regarding maintenance and construction. The Journeyman plumber 1 will exemplify the JLL policy and procedures as well as the Rush mission Vision and values and in accordance with Rush Policy and Procedures.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Repair and install all types of plumbing pipes and devices in accordance with the plumbing code.
2. Must have the knowledge and ability to rod all types of waste and drain lines.
3. Must have the ability to repair all related kitchen equipment.
4. Must be able to install new/used equipment including faucets, lavatories, toilets, flush valves, sinks, drinking fountains and domestic water heaters( either steam, electric or gas fired).
5. Must be able to install, repair and adjust steam station of various types and styles.
6. Must be able to operate appropriate construction tools and equipment.
7. Must be able to cut, flange and thread all types of pipe including stainless, PVC, galvanized, black, copper etc.. And must be able to sweat copper pipe and fittings using various types of soft solder.
8. Apply all types and sizes of fittings and valves to all types lines and construct anti-siphon devices.
9. Medical air systems, repair room med gas outlets
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge:
Knowledge and use of high/low pressure steam systems
Knowledge of building plumbing systems
Knowledge pumping and fire system protection systems
Knowledge of all types of pumps
Knowledge of the computer maintenance system and associated devices such as tablets.
Knowledge of medical gas systems and maintenance.
Location: Chicago, IL
Shift: 1st Shift Sunday Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday
Compensation: 47 - 48/HR

Skills:
Able to read blue prints, interpret blue prints, diagrams, schematics, service manuals and instructions as necessary to complete all work assignments.
Has working knowledge of federal, state and local codes, laws and regulations applicable to the trade.
Abilities:
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in performance of a job assignment.
Must possess the physical strength and dexterity to effectively perform work assignments.
Must also have the ability and physical strength to lift various objects and devices of the job that can weigh between 20-50 lbs.
