Main Duties & Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:

Sets up and operates one or more slide forming machines toautomatically punch, cut, and form metal strips and wire by action of opposingrams to fabricate parts such as spring washers, brackets, and clips.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:

Reads and interprets documents (blue prints, drawing, ormanufacturing work orders), to ascertain what tools and materials are necessaryfor producing products to precision tolerance to aircraft specifications.

Sets up and operates, on a production basis, variousfour-slide machines. This includessettings and adjustments required to produce parts to specification. Selects, mounts and aligns toolingattachments and materials in proper order and relationship. Makes all adjustments necessary to produceparts of acceptable quality.

Loads machine with material and monitors production run,using measuring devices, such as comparator, micrometers, calipers and variousother inspection gauges.

Meets and maintains all productivity levels, as well asquality to support departmental goals and schedules.

Performs records keeping, data entry, housekeeping, andfollows safety regulations.

Qualifications

OTHER COMPETENCIES:

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such assafety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and proceduremanuals.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in allunits of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Blueprint Reading:

Ability to readand understand blueprints.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree(GED). A minimum of 4 years experiencein manufacturing aircraft quality fasteners using four-slide machinery; orequivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employeeis regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talkor hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands andarms and stoop or bend. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by thisjob include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Compensation

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $18.00-$29.86.

Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
