- Lead and oversee all mechanical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development to execution and closeout.
- Develop engineering design specifications, calculations, and drawings, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely delivery of engineering deliverables.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigation measures associated with decommissioning activities.
- Review and evaluate vendor proposals and technical documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements and specifications.
- Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and third-party contractors to address technical inquiries, resolve engineering issues, and facilitate project approvals.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and HAZOP/HAZID sessions to ensure effective communication and coordination among project teams.
- Monitor project progress and performance metrics, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship, ensuring that all engineering activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Mechanical engineering expertise, particularly in the natural gas sector.
- Project engineering and design experience, with a minimum of 5 years in the oil and gas industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
- Consulting experience.
- Proficiency in design software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, CadWorx, P&ID.
- Experience with compressor stations and meter stations.
- Knowledge of pipeline design and pipeline engineering.
- Familiarity with brownfield and greenfield projects.
- Experience with Navisworks.
Enjoy a hybrid work setting with a typical schedule of three days in the office and two days working from home. (can negotiate remote work and work 1-2 days a month onstie in the KY office) The engineering office is medium-sized, with approximately 60 employees including field staff, engineers, and project managers, located in Kentucky. The company offers flexibility to work around personal schedules and situations, including remote work options for candidates not local to Lexington, requiring in-office presence only one day a month. The role may require travel to project sites as needed.
