Maintenance Tech Lead (Plumber)-Full Time, Facilities/Engineering (Harrah's SoCal)

The lead plumber will use working knowledge of plumbing systems to conduct maintenance, fault finding, installation, diagnostics on existing systems, repair pipes and fixtures associated with water distribution and sanitation systems in commercial structures of the casino. The lead plumber will maintain the flow and drainage of water, air, and other gases by assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures. The lead plumber will provide guidance and training to plumbers and other facilities personnel, perform full range of duties in the design, installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems, fixture, and equipment.

Qualifications :

Must have a plumbers license or 5 years related experience within the plumbing field.

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to get along well with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Must be able to work any day of the week, weekends, and any shift if emergencies arise.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Must have excellent leadership skills.
  • Must have good email and phone skills to call vendors, walk with leaders at casino on projects, or get quotes for material.
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the plumbing trade.
  • Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, health and safety regulations and hazardous material codes and laws.
  • Ability to read and interrupt blueprints, diagrams, schematic and written reference material.
  • Knowledge of operational characteristics of plumbing, water, sewer, and gas systems.
  • Knowledge of backflow protection methods, practices, and devices.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Repairs and replace all plumbing related devices and or equipment.
  • Maintains fluid systems throughout the casino and property.
  • Monitors water conversation, repairing leaks as necessary and upgrading to low flow water systems if applicable.
  • Unclogs sanitary and raw drain systems. Clears drains and obstructions in water and sewer systems, conducts pressure tests of water, gas and compressed air piping and systems.
  • Routinely inspects all plumbing equipment, identifying potential problems and resolving in a timely manner.
  • Maintains adequate supply of materials and equipment related to plumbing repairs and replacement.
  • Ensures structural integrity of existing plumbing systems while making recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Installs, maintains, repairs and services structural plumbing equipment including pumps, motors, valves, boilers, cooling towers, faucets, toilets, drinking fountains, fire sprinkler systems, water, and sewer lines, washing machines and dryers, kitchen appliances and restroom facilities.
  • Repairs water and gas leaks on service lines, replaces polyvinyl chloride (PVC), copper, brass, and galvanized pipes; cuts and threads pipes; solders and sweats copper joints/fittings, rebuilds faucets; repairs water supply lines. Including pro-press applications and tools.
  • Maintains a variety of records related to work performed and materials used which may include material estimates, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and logs.
  • Participates in training and provides day to day lead work direction and support to other facility engineers including chief engineer and management.
  • Respond to emergency calls as needed and complete work orders from casino maintenance ticket system (HOTSOS).

Pay: Starting at $37.50 per hour, depending on experience.
