Position Title: Production Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor oversees daily operations of the manufacturing floor, ensuring that production processes run efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. This role involves managing a team of production workers, maintaining quality standards, and meeting production targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and tenant improvement projects, particularly with experience in steel stud framing, drywall installation, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) pod construction, and hands-on construction work. This knowledge will help bridge the gap between production and field requirements, ensuring the seamless execution of project goals.
Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership and Supervision:
Manage and supervise a team of production workers, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to ensure high morale and productivity.
Production Management:
Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily production activities to meet production schedules and targets.
Ensure efficient utilization of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
Apply construction knowledge, including steel stud framing, drywall systems, and MEP layouts, to inform production planning and execution.
Coordinate closely with project managers to ensure manufacturing aligns with on-site construction timelines and specifications.
Hands-On Construction Support:
Actively assist in hands-on construction and fabrication tasks as needed, including framing, drywall prep, or MEP pod assembly.
Troubleshoot technical or installation challenges on the shop floor by applying real-world field experience.
Serve as a technical resource and mentor for team members in construction-related tasks and methods.
Quality Control:
Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure products meet company standards and customer specifications.
Ensure components for tenant improvements, such as pre-framed walls or integrated MEP pods, meet internal, field, and code requirements.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and relevant construction codes.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
Work cross-functionally with engineering, field operations, and construction leads to optimize the workflow of prefabricated assemblies.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production output, downtime, and material usage.
Provide regular reports on production performance, especially related to field-readiness and project timelines.
Inventory and Materials Management:
Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to ensure consistent production flow and minimal waste.
Oversee materials related to framing, drywall, and MEP to ensure the right quantities are available for each project stage.
Qualifications: Experience:
Minimum of 35 years of experience in a production supervisory role within a manufacturing or construction environment.
Direct experience with steel stud framing, drywall, MEP pod construction, and hands-on construction is required.
Strong background in tenant improvement (TI) or commercial interior build-outs.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Practical experience with construction tools, materials, and job site workflows.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge field and factory teams.
Proficiency in production and project management software.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing, prefab systems, and continuous improvement practices.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Capability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be hands-on when needed and able to perform construction-related tasks.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Work Environment
Available Shift:
MondayFriday 6:00 AM2:30 PM
Be available for overtime as required to meet production targets and deadlines.
This is an in-office position located in Anaheim, CA.
Flexibility to work additional hours, including weekends and holidays, when necessary.
