The ideal candidate for the Mechanical Design Engineer is an individual with 2+ years of experience in shell and tube heat exchanger design OR 2+ years of experience in pressure vessel design. The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for performing mechanical designs of shell and tube heat exchangers.

Pay: $70,000 - $100,000 BOE

Responsibilities:
-Perform mechanical design calculations and create dimensional sketches of exchangers
-Perform final design of tube layout
-Maintain and care for computer system
-Issue drawings and other output data internally and to the customer
-Verify that all drawings and calculations meet the requirements of ASME code, TEMA standard, and any other applicable codes or standards
-Validate that drawings and calculations meet all user-defined needs and specifications
-Communicate with customers
-Assist in training new design and drafting personnel
-Assist Manager of Mechanical Engineering with basic managerial duties
-Assist in resolving fabrication problems relating to detail drawing
-Assist in creating, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system within the company
-Maintain Computer Verification Log
-Assist Quality Inspection Department and Purchasing in resolving material-related problems

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

-Specialized drafting training from a vocational/technical or trade school is desired
-Strong people skills
