We are looking for a NICET III Certified Technician with expertise in life safety systems design and project management to spearhead initiatives in our new Life Safety Systems Division. This role will focus on collaborating with our BIM/CAD department to develop fire alarm, sprinkler, and suppression system designs, managing projects from concept to completion, and contributing to the strategic expansion of the division. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong technical and organizational skills, eager to build and scale a new team.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the BIM/CAD department to develop designs for life safety systems, including fire alarms, water-based systems, and special hazard systems, in compliance with NFPA, ICC, and local codes
- Review and provide technical input on system layouts, shop drawings, and submittals produced by the BIM/CAD team
- Manage life safety system projects from initiation to completion, including defining scope, developing project plans, executing deliverables , and resource allocation
- Monitor, build, and maintain project schedules, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are met
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and job costs to ensure profitability and accuracy of WIP reporting
- Read and fully understand all contract language, implementing it into day-to-day project management practices
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with project specifications and expectations
- Identify and manage project risks, proactively resolving issues, and communicating changes to stakeholders
- Oversee quality control for all life safety systems to ensure they meet regulatory, safety, and client requirements
- Conduct site inspections and walk-downs to verify progress, field conditions, and compliance
- Collaborate with leadership to develop standards, workflows, and strategies for scaling the Life Safety Systems Division
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, schedules, RFIs, and compliance records
- Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities and supporting the proposal and estimating processes
- Mentor team members and provide technical and project guidance to support team development and overall division growth
- Prepare and lead project meetings; serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communication
- Stay up to date on changes in industry codes, standards, and emerging technologies to ensure innovation and compliance in system design and execution
- Physical demands include long hours sitting, using a computer, standing, pulling/pushing, walking, lifting, and climbing
- Occasional site visits may require working in varying environmental conditions or navigating construction sites
- The job requires intermediate computer proficiency and advanced critical thinking skills

Qualifications:
- Required : Active NICET Level III certification in Fire Alarm Systems, Water-Based Systems Layout, or Special Hazards Systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in life safety or fire protection system design and project management.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA codes (e.g., NFPA 72, 13, 25), IBC, and local regulations.
- Experience working with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software, such as Revit, and CAD software, such as AutoCAD or HydraCAD.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the BIM/CAD department and other teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- OSHA 10 certification
- Proven project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced experience with BIM workflows and integration with life safety system design.
- Familiarity with integrated life safety systems, including security or emergency communication systems.
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
- Prior experience in business development or leading new initiatives/teams.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position includes, but is not limited to, supervision of Project Engineers, BIM Staff, Superintendents, Foremen, Journeymen, and Laborers.
