Rinker Design Associates (RDA) is expanding, and we're looking for a Sr. Highway Design Engineer to lead the charge in our newest office in the Roanoke/Blacksburg/Christiansburg region. What You'll Do:

  • Lead & Inspire: Manage key highway design projects from planning through construction. Guide project delivery with an eye for quality and innovation.
  • Build the Team: Mentor junior engineers and support the development of a collaborative, high-performing team.
  • Be a Difference-Maker: Drive business development and client engagement while delivering meaningful solutions to transportation challenges.
  • Own Your Projects: Work on a wide range of initiatives-from large-scale design-build efforts to impactful local roadway improvements.
  • Create with Purpose: Develop forward-thinking solutions for intersections, interchanges, pedestrian facilities, and more.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's a plus)
  • 5+ years of experience in highway engineering design
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of VDOT, AASHTO, FHWA standards
  • Expertise in software like MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil3D, AutoCAD
  • A collaborative mindset and clear, confident communication skills
  • P.E. license in Virginia (or the ability to obtain one quickly)
