Frontier-Kemper, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking an AutoCAD Technician to join our Manhattan Tunnel Project in New York, New York.

Frontier-Kemper-Tutor Perini joint venture was awarded the Manhattan Tunnel Project, part of the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). A $1.18 billion design-build contract from the Gateway Development Commission for the HTP which aims to enhance rail resiliency by adding two new tracks between New York and New Jersey and rehabilitating the storm-damaged North River Tunnel. The project includes designing and constructing twin 30-foot diameter, 700-foot-long tunnels under the Hudson River, connecting to existing tunnels beneath Hudson Yards, and an access shaft at 12th Avenue, later serving as a ventilation facility.

Extraordinary Projects Need Exceptional Talent

As an AutoCAD Technician at Frontier-Kemper, reporting to the Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting complex underground and heavy civil construction projects. You will:

  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications with precision.

  • Adhere to and apply drawing standards specific to each project.

  • Create high-quality drawings and technical details on schedule.

  • Collaborate closely with project engineers and trades to develop shop drawings for approval and on-site use.

  • Track and incorporate design changes resulting from RFIs, ensuring as-built drawings reflect the latest project updates.

  • Maintain accurate redlines, record drawings, and as-builts throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Handle all assignments with professionalism and confidentiality.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.

  • Experience in heavy civil construction projects, with a strong understanding of equipment and plant layouts, is a plus.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2D (required); experience with Navisworks, Civil 3D, Revit, or Inventor is a strong advantage.

  • Skilled in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented mindset.

  • Committed to delivering high-quality work through organized and methodical practices.

  • Capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.

  • Effective communicator-written, verbal, and active listening-with the ability to engage with cross-functional project teams.

  • Able to accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Willing and able to work full-time, including extended hours when necessary.
