The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in HVAC/R systems, with expertise in air conditioning, refrigeration, and appliance repair. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to read schematics, ensuring that all HVAC systems operate efficiently and effectively. The HVAC Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial applications. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including commercial split systems, commercial packaged rooftop units, commercial air handling units, commercial air-side / air-cooled equipment, including cooling towers, in addition to generic HVAC system accessories and components. Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance with a customer focused pro-active approach to support reducing downtime. Execute repairs on various equipment applications related to HVAC/R systems. Utilize mechanical knowledge to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions. Read and interpret electrical schematics to understand system layouts and operational functions. Solder, weld, and braze components as necessary for system repairs or installations. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively & clearly with clients regarding their HVAC needs. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory management, through field service database. Requirements Proven strong yet advanced experience as an HVAC Technician or similar role in the HVAC/R industry. Strong knowledge of air conditioning systems, refrigeration techniques, and commercial repairs. Proficient mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively. Full knowledge of more advanced HVAC equipment, primarily with heavy repairs and diagnostics. Safety led work environment and focus. Ability to read schematics and technical drawings related to HVAC systems. Strong problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively while managing client accounts, including collaboration with team members. Valid driver's license, must be insurable, as traveling between job sites is required and may extend to over-night accommodations depending on distance from home. Utilize own tools for work purposes, which would qualify for company paid replacement with manager approval. Maintain recall / callback avg. of less than 3%, while maintaining a manageable pull through rate. Qualifications High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work history Minimum 6 - 10 years experience in commercial HVAC/R industry Proficient knowledge of HVAC fundamentals and systems including commercial, heavy industrial, or prior experience in a related field
