Design Engineer / Project Engineer in Fountain Valley,CA,US

Company is seeking a Civil Project Engineer with 1 - 10 years of experience focused in the stormwater management planning and design, with an emphasis on hydrology and hydraulics. This position will entail performing a wide variety of engineering analyses and design requiring robust engineering ability and communication skills. The ideal candidate has a degree in Civil Engineering with focused study and experience in water resources/water engineering, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proven problem-solving ability. The position requires the ability to work as part of a team as well as self-directed. Functions of this position may include: Watershed modeling Hydraulic modeling/analysis (1D&2D) and design Understanding stormwater management systems and design criteria Drainage / flood control planning and design Water quality / BMP planning and design Fluvial and sediment transport analysis Flood mitigation studies Integrated water resource planning Floodplain mapping and hydraulic modeling River engineering Urban drainage systems planning and design This position requires a broad knowledge of the Civil Engineering field. The position will strategically apply sustainable design practices to a variety of water resources projects. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or related engineering field with 1 - 10 years of work experience (Master's degree a plus). Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license (California preferred) for Project Engineer, minimum of EIT preferred for Design Engineer. University courses in water resources / water engineering such as hydraulic/hydrologic modeling. MS Office proficiency. Specific knowledge of regulatory framework for projects in CA, AZ and those under US EPA federal regulation desired but not required. Working knowledge of AutoCAD. Excellent communication skills including technical writing and presentations. Ability to work in a team environment and self-directed.
