The Role: This position will provide support and guidance to the business and our customers in the review of contract documents, bids, and proposals. Performing moderate to complex contract management duties and displaying a high level of critical thinking in bringing a successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional contractual negotiations and other problems. This involves understanding the business case and having an appreciation of financial/analytical issues and profit/loss implications. Contract activity may be non-routine and require the development of specialized contract vehicles and techniques to accomplish business goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Counsel business on risks of customer terms and approvals required per internal management review policy and process
Guides the preparation and negotiation of contracts and provisions of service/bid contracts
Manages contract change control process. Develops negotiation strategy and leads negotiation team on complex contractual issues. Analyzes contract trends for potential impact on business unit goals and objectives
In consultation with legal team and lead contract managers, assists with drafting of and training on form agreements for use by other contract managers
Functions as domain expert on selected areas and issues (i.e., Federal contracts)
Focal point for all communication with law, finance, and business team disciplines for resolution of contract issues and disputes
May assist with integration of new business units and associated contract strategy. Assists in identification, development and implementation of new contract policy and processes
Identify areas for process improvement in contract administration
Performs moderate to complex contract management duties
Refers unique and more complex matters to lead contract managers and/or lawyers
Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross- functional problems

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of general business or contract-related experience
In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered
Ability to draft moderate to complex, non-routine contractual instruments.
Working to excellent knowledge of corporate policies and procedures, coupled with ability to identify required improvement to established policies
Working to expert knowledge of contracting concepts, Uniform Commercial Code, applicable public contract acquisition law and regulations, and applicable international contract law.
Strong to excellent analytical, influencing, and communication skills.
Good presentation, leadership and team-building skills. Use of independent judgment and creativity applied to resolution of contract issues.
Excellent internal and external negotiation skills.
Emerging ability to excel in upper-level management environment
