The Mechanical Engineer (or Reliability Engineer) identifies and manages risks for productivity improvement opportunities that can affect asset reliability and business operations. The focus is on risk management, loss elimination, and lifecycle asset management. This role aims to reduce the cost of failure by minimizing system downtimes and assesses the reliability of assets and identifies areas that need improvements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Developing Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) processes for new and existing assets
Performing data analysis to predict and curb failures before they occur
Updating the preventive maintenance plan in the CMMS system
Planning performance evaluation tests to determine potential production and safety risks
Performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring failures and recommending corrective action
Collaborating with maintenance teams to develop proactive maintenance strategies that enhance asset reliability
Working with project engineers to ensure the maintainability and reliability of newly installed and modified equipment
Ensuring adherence to the Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM) process
Participating in the Early Equipment Management (development process for the design and installation of custom machine specifications)
Providing technical support to other teams such as production, H&S, Quality and Engineering
Working with the production team to ensure asset utilization and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) optimization
Requirements:
5+ years relevant experience in Maintenance;
Bachleor's degree in Science/Engineering; Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred
Experience in Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence preferred
Proficient in statistical, mathematical, and engineering concepts
Experienced with statistical and probability methods/tools
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving and logical thinking skills
Effective at multitasking and prioritizing workloads
Knowledgeable in lifecycle asset management, risk management, configuration management, and loss elimination
Physical Demands Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs; Frequent sitting, standing, and walking; occasional climbing/balancing, stooping/twisting, kneeling, squatting, crawling, push/pull, reaching, gripping, and visual acuity (near/far).
Environmental Conditions: Occasional exposure to uneven ground, excessive noise, working at heights, dust/fumes, biohazards, frequent exposure to machinery
