Position Overview
The Center for Talent and Workforce Development at Schreiner University is seeking a Mechatronics Facilitator to support students in hands-on learning experiences. This role focuses on facilitating lab sessions, guiding students through practical applications of Mechatronics/Advanced Manufacturing concepts, and ensuring the proper use of industry-standard equipment. The facilitator will also support student learning progress in a blended format, integrating our established online, on-demand lectures with in-person lab sessions.
This is an ideal position for industry professionals who are passionate about mentoring and developing the next generation of skilled workers in advanced manufacturing in the Texas Hill Country.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate hands-on lab sessions in Mechatronics, ensuring students gain practical experience in areas such as:
AC/DC motor controls
Industrial maintenance and control systems
Mechanical systems and automation
Electronics and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
Support student learning progress in a blended format, integrating online, on-demand lectures with in-person lab sessions.
Assist students in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and applying theoretical knowledge to real-world applications.
Ensure the safe and effective use of laboratory equipment and tools.
Monitor student progress and provide individualized guidance to enhance their learning experience.
Collaborate with the instructional team to ensure alignment between lab activities and course learning objectives.
Maintain lab equipment and report any maintenance or supply needs.
Promote a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and skill development.
Qualifications
Minimum Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Industrial Systems, or a related field.
2-4 years of industry experience in areas such as:
AC/DC control systems
Industrial maintenance and automation
Mechanical and electronic control systems
Teaching or training experience preferred, but not required.
Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor students.
Familiarity with industry safety protocols and lab management.
Additional Information
Training will be provided to ensure alignment with CTWD's instructional approach and lab facilitation standards.
This is a part-time position with flexible hours, including evening and weekend options.
