Loudspeaker Design Engineer Loudspeaker system design engineer. Design of cabinets, horns, crossovers (passive and active), measurement and evaluation of transducers, supporting electronics and 3rd party loudspeaker systems, generation of spec sheet data and information, including QA/QC loudspeaker system testing procedures. Location: Meridian, MS Job Type: Full-time Duties and Responsibilities: Performs crossover design work, both passive and active (powered) Design and translation of cosmetic design concepts into a production ready form Measures product to provide data for specification sheet and owner's manual Performs transducer and electronics (DSP, amplifier) modeling, measurement and testing Evaluates 3rd party loudspeaker products and services Determines QA/QC loudspeaker system testing procedures Guides technical and clerical personnel regarding measurement and testing, BOM's, part number data, etc. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education/Training - BSEE or BS in Physics, or professional equivalent with 10 years of work related experience Specialized Knowledge/Skills related listening experiences, including sound system operation, or mixing, or music performance, etc. Must be able to determine "good" sound from "bad" sound of a loudspeaker. Expertise with loudspeaker design programs such as Theile-Small box design and modeling software Working familiarity with Enhanced Acoustic Simulator for Engineers (EASE), EASE Focus, and other acoustic modeling software. Working capability with Excel (Loudspeaker Engineering oriented worksheets), Word, and awareness of requirements for CAD design limitations and hang ups.
