General Laborer

General Laborer Job Description Seeking a motivated General Laborer to join the team at a concrete plant located in Newberrytown. This full-time position offers a great opportunity for growth within the company, as well as health and retirement benefits. Responsibilities Break down molds of concrete pieces that have cured overnight. Pull out green concrete from the molds, clean out the molds, scrape out excess concrete, and prep the forms for the next pour. Operate saws and prepare molds, including setting re-bar with spacers. Assist in smoothing poured concrete in the second part of the day to cure overnight. Clean up the work area by sweeping and shoveling concrete scraps. Essential Skills Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs or more regularly throughout the workday. Previous experience in construction or heavy manufacturing settings. Proficiency in basic math and converting measurements. Experience with hand and power tools. Ability to use a tape measure with 1/16" measurement accuracy. Additional Skills & Qualifications Direct experience with concrete manufacturing, preferably pre-cast and/or rebar. Detail-oriented with a basic knowledge of angles and measurements. Work Environment Work takes place at the Newberry/Lewisberry Plant in York Haven, PA, operating from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM. The facility is equipped with 30 to 40ft high ceilings, heated in winter to around 67 degrees, and has large overhead doors that open for ventilation in summer. Although not air-conditioned, a breeze can be created by opening overhead doors. The environment includes concrete dust and machinery, and the radio plays throughout the plant. Dress code requires long pants, a T-shirt, steel toe boots, with gloves and safety glasses provided as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, Pennsylvania. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
