Position Overview We are seeking a Commercial HVAC Equipment Estimator in Nashville, Tennessee to drive HVAC equipment sales. The day-to-day tasks include assisting Outside Sales Engineers to provide timely estimates of HVAC material on commercial and industrial projects. Key Responsibilities Review construction plans and specifications to accurately determine project requirements. Utilize OST software to perform material take-offs from construction drawings. Select appropriate HVAC equipment based on provided specifications and cross-reference materials when not listed as the basis of design. Price equipment lists using manufacturer pricing software and databases. Collaborate with Sales Engineers to develop strategic and competitive quotations. Prepare and distribute detailed quotations to contractors in a timely manner. Maintain interactive communication with sales teams, factory representatives, and customers to ensure accurate and efficient quoting. Manage workload effectively in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Perform job functions in an office setting, including extended periods of computer work and communication with team members. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or Building Construction, or equivalent industry experience. Experience working with commercial HVAC products. Strong technical aptitude and product knowledge, including pre-sale and post-sale support. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based software for selection, pricing, quoting, submittals, ordering, expediting, and billing. Basic math skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects (30-150 at different stages) while prioritizing tasks effectively. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application, delivery, and installation issues. Comfort handling shifting priorities and meeting deadlines in a high-pressure environment. Strong multitasking skills while maintaining a customer-focused approach. A "can-do" attitude with a proactive approach to customer needs. Strong phone presence and ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
