General Laborer

As a Production Specialist, you will play a crucial role in refurbishing and refilling propane tanks. This position requires hands-on involvement in various stages of the production process, ensuring that each tank meets our quality standards. Responsibilities Operate washer functions by placing tanks on a conveyor belt and sorting them into 'acceptable' and 'needs work' piles. Remove labels and sleeves from tanks as needed. Transport rusty, dented, or otherwise damaged tanks to the appropriate location, primarily through manual processes. Receive training in shot blasting, weight entry, capping (labeling), and stacking (palletizing) after mastering washer functions and dispatch duties. Contribute to stacking completed tanks for shipment. Conduct regular quality checks throughout all stages to ensure tanks have no leaks, weight discrepancies, or sleeve and paint issues. Essential Skills Ability to lift 35-65 lbs repetitively throughout the shift. Comfortable working in various weather conditions and transitioning between indoor and outdoor environments. Willingness to engage in physical tasks such as lifting, loading, and unloading. Additional Skills & Qualifications No previous experience required, though candidates should be open to learning and training in new areas. Ability to work Friday or Saturday shifts on occasion, particularly during high-demand periods. Shift & Pay 1st shift: Monday - Thursday 6AM-4:30PM // $17.50 2nd shift: Monday - Thursday 6PM-4:30AM // $18.50 Work Environment The work environment includes a covered building with open doors, making it feel like outdoors. It is very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer, as it is not climate-controlled. PPE, including winter gloves, is provided at the site, but employees must bring their own steel toes. Relatives cannot work on the same shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position is located 20 minutes outside of Kokomo, Indiana. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
