Apprentice Electrician Job Description Join our team as an Apprentice Electrician, where you will contribute to commercial building projects and various school projects throughout Downriver and Belleville. As a member of the commercial construction crew, you may occasionally assist at industrial facilities, though the majority of work will focus on commercial construction. We are seeking motivated 3rd to 4th-year apprentices to help drive our projects forward. Responsibilities Run and bend conduit efficiently. Assist in troubleshooting motors, motor controls, motor control centers, magnetic motor starters, transformers, and other electrical apparatus. Properly install and connect push-button controls, limit switches, pressure switches, float switches, flow switches, and other types of motor control devices. Assist in installing control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, circuit-breaker panels, and transformers, using approved fasteners and supports with hand tools and power tools. Learn to observe the function of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Learn to layout and install electrical work for commercial projects based on information from drawings, sketches, and specifications. Carry out assigned tasks with customers using good oral and written communication skills. Ensure all work is done safely and correctly. Essential Skills 3+ years of commercial electrical experience. Proficiency in EMT, rigid, PVC conduit, pulling and running wires, and reading blueprints. Valid Michigan Apprentice card holder. Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and stand for long periods. Additional Skills & Qualifications Reliable transportation. Open to traveling to job sites every day.
