Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder with experience working in an aluminum casting environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding, assembling, and repairing aluminum cast components with precision and care. This role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, safety standards, and quality control procedures specific to cast aluminum materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on aluminum castings according to blueprints, technical drawings, and welding procedures
Inspect, prep, and clean cast aluminum parts prior to welding
Repair defects in castings, such as cracks, voids, and porosity, using proper welding techniques
Use grinders, sanders, and hand tools to finish welded joints and prepare parts for final machining or finishing
Ensure all welds meet internal and external quality specifications
Maintain a clean and organized welding area in compliance with safety standards
Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues
Follow all plant safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or welding certifications preferred
2+ years of TIG welding experience, preferably in aluminum and/or casting environments
Strong knowledge of aluminum welding properties and challenges (e.g., porosity, heat control)
Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints and technical drawings
Experience with various hand and power tools used in welding and fabrication
Familiarity with safety regulations and industry best practices
Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and time management
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and fumes
Manual dexterity to manipulate tools and components with precision
