Electrical Apprentice

IES Residential is seeking motivated and dependable Electrical Apprentices to support licensed electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential construction. This entry-level role provides hands-on training under the guidance of experienced professionals, offering a strong foundation for a long-term career in the electrical trade.

• Pull wire, install conduit, outlets, switches, panels, and other electrical components as instructed.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical diagrams.

• Maintain a clean and safe job site by adhering to safety policies and procedures.

• Operate hand and power tools under supervision.

• Load, unload, and stage tools, equipment, and materials at job sites.

• Participate in on-the-job training and attend required classroom instruction (if enrolled in an apprenticeship program).

• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Enrollment or willingness to enroll in a recognized electrical apprenticeship program preferred.

• Ability to follow instructions, work in a team, and display initiative.

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

• Basic understanding of electrical principles is a plus.

• Must have reliable transportation to job sites.

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, as required.

• Frequently works at construction sites, both indoors and outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions.

• Regularly required to stand, bend, kneel, and lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).

• May be exposed to high places, noise, dust, and potentially hazardous equipment.

• PPE (personal protective equipment) must be worn at all times as required by job site.
