Construction Estimator

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Bid review - 2 Days before Bid Date - Review with ownership
• Attend Pre-Bid & Award Meetings
• Review Contracts for LD, Insurance, Payment, Clauses, etc. Issues
• Perform Take-Offs & Get Material Quotes
• Request feedback from Supers and Foremen for specific tasks or materials orders
• Prepare Estimating Schedule & Sales Award Tracking Weekly
• Tracks Lead & Estimating Pipeline & Builder's Exchange Jobs Bidding
• Review Bid Documents, Specs, Soils, Addenda’s, etc.
• Attend All Pre-Con Turn-Over Meetings with PM and Super
• Update & Maintain Cost History Library
• Review Final Job Costs Compared to Bid Estimate with PM/S/F Monthly
• Minimum 3 Bids per Trade/Supplier/Material > $3,000
• Update Sub-list and Pricing List on going
• Assist PM with CO pricing as needed on major CO’s
• Track Subs Bidding Jobs in progress
• Enter estimates into Xactimate – Customer Information/Project Information/Etc.
• Review/strategize with PM on new jobs won
• Maintain good relations with existing clients
• Attend initial sales meeting
• Work directly as part of “Sales Team” with clients, PM, architects, engineers
• Provide prelim design, renderings and budget proposals
• Be part of sales meeting to deliver proposals

Qualifications:

• Ability to analyze data, calculate costs, and identify potential cost-saving measures
• Proficiency in reading and understanding technical drawings, specifications, and other construction documents
• Must be able to effectively communicate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients.
• A strong understanding of building materials, construction methods, and industry standards.
• Experience in project planning, budgeting, and cost control is helpful.
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing.
• Proficiency in using estimating software, spreadsheets, and other relevant software is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
