Job Overview
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you are responsible for managing and executing civil engineering projects from conception to completion. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, leadership abilities, and experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Project Planning and Design
Lead the design and planning of civil engineering projects, including but not limited to roads, , Utility supply systems, stormwater management, and site development.
Prepare and oversee detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
Manage and coordinate a team of engineers, CAD technicians, and other design professionals
Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and environmental assessments.
Project Management
Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project objectives are met.
Provide detailed timelines and identify necessary permits required.
Clearly identify major milestones and project critical path items related to civil engineering.
Manage and mentor engineering staff.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and safety standards.
Prepare and submit necessary permits and documentation to relevant authorities.
Technical Oversight
Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
Review and approve engineering plans, specifications, and calculations.
Ensure the use of best practices and innovative techniques in project execution.
Quality Assurance
Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure high standards of work.
Conduct regular site inspections to assess construction progress and quality.
Address Civil engineering related issues that arise during construction.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
Communicate project updates, milestones, and challenges effectively to all parties involved.
Address client concerns and modify project plans as necessary.
Provide accurate and prompt responses to team and clients
Sustainability and Innovation
Incorporate sustainable design principles and practices into all projects.
Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and methodologies.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a senior project manager lead role.
Professional Engineer (NC and/or SC) license.
Proficiency in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil-3D, or similar.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong understanding of, hydrology, and geotechnical principles.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to detail

Excellent project management and leadership skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Valid driver's license
