Travel Project Engineer - Heavy Civil Construction

Location: Travel-based (Project Sites Across Region) Employment Type: Full-time Experience Required: Minimum 2 years - 5 years preferred

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Traveling Project Engineer to support complex heavy civil construction projects in the field. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working on projects involving bridge, highway, marine, dam, or wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) scopes. This position is project-based, requiring full-time presence on the job site with relocation to the next project upon completion. Periodic travel home is supported.

• Assist project managers and superintendents with day-to-day operations on site

• Track quantities, prepare reports, and support schedule and cost management

• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors

• Ensure work is completed in compliance with plans, specs, and safety standards

• Support submittals, RFIs, change orders, and document control

• Provide engineering and technical support to field teams

• Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy civil construction. 5+ years is a plus

• Project experience in one or more of the following is required: bridge, heavy highway, marine, dam, or WWTP construction

• Ability to travel and live on or near job sites for the duration of each project

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
