Job Summary:We are seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to lead and oversee heavy civil construction operations, including concrete paving, heavy highway, bridge construction, and utility work. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of industry experience, with a strong background in both project management and estimating. Experience with DOT projects and HCSS software is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:Provide overall leadership and direction for multiple heavy civil construction projects
Manage project execution from pre-construction through completion
Oversee estimating and bid preparation for public and private sector work
Ensure compliance with project specifications, schedules, budgets, and safety standards
Lead, mentor, and support project managers, superintendents, and field personnel
Collaborate with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to maintain strong relationships
Monitor and optimize resource allocation, job cost performance, and operational efficiency
Implement and enforce company policies and procedures across project teams
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction operations and project management
Proven expertise in concrete paving, bridge construction, roadway and utility work
Extensive DOT project experience (state or federal)
Proficiency with HCSS (HeavyBid/HeavyJob) and other construction management tools
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
OSHA certification or safety training a plus
