JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced equipment operator to support the removal of water treatment residuals from a lagoon as part of a lagoon cleanout and material management operation. The operator is responsible for but not limited to excavators, dozers, water truck, and non-cdl street sweeper for onsite. Excavators and dozer will be utilized to load material into dump trucks directly from lagoon. Other equipment will be used for site management. This role requires strict adherence to environmental regulations, operational safety procedures, and coordination with the project team to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient worksite.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Experience operating heavy machinery (excavators, dozers, or similar equipment) and the ability and desire to learn new equipment.
  2. Conduct daily inspections and perform preventative maintenance on the equipment.
  3. Comply with all DOT, state, local and in-house regulations, procedures, and rules.
  4. Strong understanding of safety procedures and environmental compliance.
  5. Perform site clean up, maintenance, and equipment/tools setup.
  6. Coordinating with Operations Manager and other employees to ensure strategic operations to efficiently move material.
  7. Load extracted material into haul trucks.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  1. Ability to work full days.
  2. Communication skills – verbal and written
  3. Demonstrate strong interpersonal, problem solving and relationship building skills
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, process work rapidly, set priorities, work under pressure and follow through with assigned tasks

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES

  1. Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience with heavy equipment
  3. Valid Driver’s License
  4. Experience in making minor repairs and adjustments to operating equipment
  5. Experience in computer operation and electronic controls
  6. Safe driving record: No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years or DWI/DUI in last 10 years

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Talking, Hearing, Seeing, Visual, Pulling, Pushing, Grasping, Stooping, Crawling, Kneeling, Climbing, and Lifting up to 50-100 lbs.
  2. Ability to work in outdoor, wet, hot/cold, and potentially muddy conditions
  3. Physical ability to perform manual tasks and operate machinery for extended periods
