We currently have an opportunity for a Paving Superintendet in Southern California who will be regularly communitng to Santa Clarita, CA and Chino, CA . As a Paving Superintendent you will be managing and supervising crews, onsite and technical aspects of the project both in the field and in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee or undertake technical support activities to the pavement subcontractors by supporting in the coordination and control of activities to achieve technical quality, budget, program and client satisfaction
  • Support and provide assistance to the QC staff in the daily inspection, testing of the paving works and planning and execution of pavement site investigations in order to ensure that quality standards are fully achieve and risks managed
  • Prepare technical reviews and analysis based on the QC data collected
  • Construction management for the paving subcontractors, including but not limited to the coordination, planning and sequencing of the activities to be performed by the subcontractor
  • Liaison with the Sub-Contractor, the Client, the Cities and other stakeholders to guarantee the smooth and timely execution of the paving works
  • Lead project delivery within the pavement team
  • Prepare project reports
  • Support the Sub-Contractor in identifying and managing workplace hazards and liaise with the Contractor and Sub-Contractor’s H&S Manager to ensure that any hazards arising from the activities are identified, reported and managed

Qualifications

  • Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 15+ years in construction, maintenance, and repair of streets and roadways including ten years of supervisory experience OR an Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering plus considerable (5+ years) of experience in Caltrans, METRO or OCTA project in construction, maintenance, and repair of streets and roadways with 10 years of progressive supervisory experience.
  • Must be safety oriented – Current CPR, First Aid and CAL OSHA 30-hour certificates are required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

    Compensation: The base salary being offered for this position is USD $150,000 per year to USD $220,000 per year. Please note that the salary range listed is specific to the role listed in Santa Clarita, California. Salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on various factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, and performance.
