Purpose:
Supervises daily maintenance using the most efficient and economical ways of maintaining the equipment, minimizing down time, and keeping warehouse operations running efficiently.
Facility Maintenance:
- Supervises and trains maintenance associates and ensures that preventative maintenance procedures are in effect and are being performed on a timely basis.
- Creates, monitors, and generates planned maintenance and job tasks using the computerized maintenance program.
- Facilitates inspections as necessary.
- Verifies work orders to ensure that they are properly prepared and verifies correct inventory procedures were followed.
- Orders parts, supplies or tools to accomplish all jobs.
- Works closely with conventional operations supervisors and managers on a shift-by-shift basis to predict and maintain throughput and production goals and deadlines to service the customer.
- Become proficient in Witron specific software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, RTA, and other systems for monitoring, tracking, and reporting goals.
- Oversees the implementation of all safety standards and training in the automated system. Maintains the appropriate number of area specific trained associates required to meet the production demands.
- Works closely with operations, transportation, and purchasing to maximize efficiency in storage, replenishment, and markouts.
- Schedules preventative maintenance in accordance with manufactures guidelines.
- Adjusts staffing levels for maintenance and production workers to meet goals. Coordinates training in functional areas to ensure appropriate coverage.
- Oversees electrical mechanical maintenance shop and required inventory for servicing the automated system.
- Creates purchase orders and coordinates deliveries with vendors to maximize uptime.
- Evaluates supply chain for parts and upgrades to maintain stock levels according to recommended guidelines.
- Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
Physical Environment:
- Most work is performed typical warehouse conditions.
- During part of the workday the incumbent will be moving about the Distribution Center warehouse floor and potential hazards exist in regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, movement of tractors and trailers, etc.
- Temperatures in the warehouse may vary between -20 degrees to 70 degrees.
- Noise levels in all areas are within acceptable tolerance ranges for those specific work areas.
- May sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
- Incumbent will use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during the workday.
