Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Use a mobile service truck to perform service calls on equipment in thefieldInspects, repairs, and adjusts graders, scrapers, trenching machines, pans,backhoes, diesel tractors, hydraulic and cable operated attachments, andearthmoving bulldozers.Overhaul, adjust, and tunes diesel/gasoline enginesGrind valves and overhaul transmissionsRepairs and replaces pistons, crankshafts, bearings, clutches, and hydraulicdriversRebuilds and replaces tractor undercarriages, changes tracks, rollers, andframesResponsible for writing the daily reports and logs and supplied to theSuperintendent at the end of every workweekDetermines machine or vehicle condition by conducting inspections anddiagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged partsKeeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenanceschedules, installing component and part upgrades, controlling corrosion, andcompleting winterization proceduresCorrects deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling,assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies,components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, airconditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machineshop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, geartooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages,clutches, and traction unitsVerifies proper performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controlsand systemsComplies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine,safety, and combustion control standardsMaintains vehicle records by annotating services and repair logsContains costs by using warranty and evaluating service/parts optionsUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, readingtechnical and regulation publicationsPerform annual DOT inspections on trucks and trailersTroubleshoot problems, discussing with equipment manager options for makingeconomical and practical repairsServices vehicles/equipment to include oil changes, greasing, adding fluids,changing filters, and maintaining preventative maintenance schedulesTroubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel andgasoline engines, transmissions, and drive trainsOrder parts and suppliesAdjust functional parts of devices, control instruments, and all types ofequipmentOperate and maintain field service truckOther duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
Must have a minimum of 10-12 years of experienceMust be able to provide own toolsWelding and fabrication skills neededMust possess a valid Class A or B CDLValid driver's license with a clean recordAbility to pass pre-employment and random drug screening
