Vertiv is hiring a Contract Administrator in Columbus, Ohio. Looking for 4-8 years experience in contract review and negotiating. This individual will be responsible for the following:
- Works as part of the contract administrator team within the Law Department to protect the company by ensuring that terms and conditions of sales transactions are acceptable. Reviews customer orders to ensure that the customer's purchase order, proposed terms and conditions, and/or products or services agreements are clearly defined, documented, and in agreement with Vertiv's terms of sale and internal guidelines.
- Drafts, edits, and negotiates master sales agreements with customers to ensure that Vertiv legal standards are met for all transactions. Executes established procedures for reviewing and releasing contracts. Contract Administrators (CAs) do not serve as attorneys for Vertiv, but strong analytical skills are required for the position, and an advanced degree in law (e.g., J.D. or equivalent) can be helpful to demonstrating such analytical skill.
Essential Functions
Negotiates sales contracts with Vertiv's business customers for a specific region or specific transaction types (e.g., based on business unit).
Identifies and resolves critical differences between Vertiv's terms and conditions of sale and customers' proposed terms and conditions (e.g., payment terms, indemnity, liquidated damages, insurance, etc.). Understands the business and legal implications of specific provisions.
Drafts and proposes alternative language to efficiently resolve pre-sale contractual negotiations.
Collaborates with other members of the Law Department to efficiently review pending sales contracts.
Collaborates with Credit, Sales, and other departments to ensure sales contracts align with companywide objectives, and documents results of such collaboration.
Monitors the contract approval process to ensure timely and consistent results as measure by sales revenue goals and shipping timing requirements.
Maintains databases containing contract information.
Collaborates with Risk Management personnel to coordinate requests for certificates of insurance.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required.)
Bachelor's degree or higher
Ability to interpret and draft contract language
4-8 years experience or demonstrated interest in contract review and negotiation
Excellent written and verbal English skills
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work calmly and efficiently under high-volume workload
Ability to prioritize, organize, and work independently
Persistent follow-through with professional tone

Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, email, and document scanning.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in law (J.D. or equivalent) (note role is not as a Vertiv attorney)
Prefer 2-6 years working for a U.S.-based large corporation
Experience reviewing standard terms in commercial sales contracts
Familiarity with commercial sales contract documents (proposals, purchase orders, etc.)
Work experience in a law-related setting (paralegal, contract review, etc.)
Ability to learn information systems and work within multiple information systems
