Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Modification Team Superintendent to lead the day-to-day operations of our modification team. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of modification planning and execution to ensure compliance with technical standards, safety protocols, and contractual requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical knowledge, and coordination skills to manage personnel, resources, and processes effectively.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise the daily operations of the modification team, including task assignments and work schedule management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all modification-related planning, execution, and status reporting.
- Ensure all modification activities comply with applicable Technical Orders (TOs), OEM manuals, Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and safety standards.
- Coordinate with program managers, engineers, QA, and logistics personnel to ensure timely planning and material readiness.
- Monitor and inspect modification work to verify compliance with work instructions, technical standards, and contractual obligations.
- Enforce safety procedures, environmental regulations, and Foreign Object Ordinance (FOO) control protocols.
- Provide technical oversight, mentorship, and on-the-job training to modification team personnel.
- Track and report labor hours, tool usage, parts consumption, and job status using maintenance information systems.
- Support audits, government inspections, and the preparation of required deliverable documentation.
Basic Qualifications
- TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field with 8-12 years of relevant experience, or
- Master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
- A Doctorate in a technical domain may substitute for equivalent experience.
- Proven experience leading construction projects from planning through execution, including scheduling, budgeting, and team coordination.
- Expert knowledge of construction principles, building codes, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD for creating and reviewing technical designs.
- Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and quality control (QC) standards.
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale or multi-disciplinary construction projects.
- Skilled in risk management, project budgeting, and contractor oversight.
- Experience with construction inspections and ensuring compliance with building regulations.
- Experience supervising technical teams or contractors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with internal teams, clients, and external vendors.
- Ability to coordinate across multiple functional areas to meet project objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or PE (Professional Engineer).
- Advanced knowledge of construction-specific software beyond AutoCAD (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, Primavera P6).
- Experience with government or public sector construction contracts and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with Lean Construction principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in workforce planning and strategic resource management.
- Strong contract management experience, including negotiating with subcontractors and vendors.
- Background in developing innovative or custom technical solutions for complex construction challenges.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
