Waterjet Operator Job Description Under the general direction of the CNC Supervisor, the Waterjet Operator is responsible for setting up and operating cutting machines, loading and unloading materials and parts using cranes and other equipment, proving programs, operating controls, inspecting parts to ensure quality, and performing troubleshooting and light maintenance duties. Responsibilities Set up, load, and unload material and parts using cranes and other equipment. Prove programs and operate controls, set offsets, and perform deburring and inspections of quality parts to meet performance requirements. Pack finished assemblies to ensure protection for shipment and transport to storage area. Ensure production rates are met or exceeded. Maximize cutting time by planning cuts of the same materials and/or thickness and using multiple cutting heads to improve work order efficiency. Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machines within capabilities. Control media as required to ensure quality of production. Perform troubleshooting and light maintenance duties. Set up and operate cutting machines according to established procedures and guidelines. Perform programming and/or editing on assigned machines. Perform preventative maintenance on assigned machines and corresponding equipment. Perform a variety of material movement tasks for order filling, receiving, and loading. Safely use assigned power equipment to move material and meet order requirements (overhead crane, forklift). Follow customer requirements to select, fill, and package orders. Maintain a clean working environment around all equipment and all areas in the shop. Perform other duties of a similar nature and assist other staff as directed by supervisor or management. Essential Skills Valid Washington State Driver's License with a clean driving record. Demonstrated knowledge of the methods, practices, materials, and tools used in waterjet and plasma operations and machining. Knowledge and competency in precision measurement instruments and accurately performing mathematical calculations. Proficiency in reading and comprehending drawings and procedures. Self-starter and self-motivated with problem-solving and communication skills. Team player who works well with coworkers and leads by example. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 2-3 years of previous waterjet or plasma table operations, machining, rigging, and crane operation experience. Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and geometric tolerancing. Use of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, pin mics, depth gauges, dial indicators, and scales preferred. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Pasco, Washington. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
