Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Senior Architect to lead the design and delivery of townhouse residential projects . The ideal candidate has strong experience in low- to mid-density residential typologies, including single-family attached housing, infill developments, and small-scale multifamily. This role involves hands-on design, technical oversight, client collaboration, and project management from concept to completion.This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role for complex development projects throughout the Bay Area. Key Responsibilities: Design Leadership: Lead the architectural design of townhouse developments, ensuring a balance between creativity, functionality, and neighborhood context. Project Oversight: Manage all project phases, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration. Client Engagement: Work closely with developers, homeowners, and consultants to understand project goals and guide design decisions. Code & Zoning Compliance: Ensure projects meet local zoning regulations, building codes, and community design standards. Documentation & Coordination: Produce and oversee the preparation of high-quality drawings and specifications. Coordinate with structural, MEP, civil, and landscape consultants. Team Collaboration: Mentor junior designers and work closely with internal teams to deliver well-executed designs on schedule. Site Sensitivity: Apply knowledge of grading, access, and landscape integration in tight urban or suburban sites. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture. Licensed Architect (or on the path to licensure). 7-10+ years of professional experience with a strong focus on residential townhouse or low-rise multifamily design. Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Deep understanding of wood-frame construction, building envelopes, and cost-effective design detailing. Strong communication and organizational skills, with experience presenting to clients and review boards. Familiarity with permitting processes, especially in urban infill or historic districts. Preferred: Experience with Passive House, Net Zero, or green building certifications. Knowledge of traditional and contemporary residential vernaculars. Background in modular or prefab townhouse delivery (optional but valued). Strong portfolio showing diverse townhouse designs, including front-loaded, rear-loaded, alley-access, and stacked variations.
