SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Warehouse Laborer in the Truss Department is responsible for assisting in the preparation, assembly, and transportation of truss components. This role involves manual labor, operating machinery, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and adhering to safety protocols.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.

Assist in assembling truss components according to specifications and blueprints.

Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and efficiently.

Organize and maintain inventory of materials and supplies.

Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and free of hazards.

Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.

Assist in the transportation and staging of completed trusses for delivery.

Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure production goals are met.

Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any malfunctions.

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

GA OSHA Forklift Certification

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.

Basic math skills for measuring and cutting materials.

Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment

Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Warehouse and outdoor work environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.

Noise levels may be high; use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.

Physical demands include lifting, bending, standing, and manual dexterity.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. Vision abilities required by the job are close vision. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle, feel, and operate office equipment such as a computer, copier, and office supplies.

In addition, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with their arms and hands, and to stoop, kneel or crouch. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly, with or without reasonable accommodation. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the work shift. Ability to perform repetitive tasks with manual dexterity. Visual acuity to read and interpret blueprints, labels, and safety instructions. Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and exposure to dust and noise. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
