You will lead the department with effective fabrication methods and best practices as well as provide strategic initiatives for growth. You will drive the team to work together and set an example for excellence. You will manage project schedules and prioritize tasks and timelines to meet due dates consistently. (English & Spanish speaking preferred) Essential Functions: Ability to weld aluminum and steel, Set-up and operate machinery (Router, circular saw, drill press, shear, brake, punch, band saw, etc.) This position is responsible for designing and fabricating signs and banners Experience in Channel Letter Bending Welding experience is a plus, but not required. Have passion for fabrication Experience with hand tools, power tools, and metal work Must take pride in work, have a good eye for detail, and possess a positive, get it done attitude. Have a strong work ethic and able to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately in a deadline environment. Able to read and understand detailed shop drawings and work orders. Able to stand for long periods and heavy lift up to 50 lbs. Prepared to bend and climb, stamina is important for this type of work. Have knowledge of proper use of safety practices. Safety equipment must be used/worn at all times. Sign experience a must. Requirements Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Ability to lead and direct other team members Knowledge and capability of installing and maintaining signage, helpful Design/fabricate signs and assist with other shop duties as needed. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule. Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. Noise level is generally loud. Must be able to quickly move arms and legs. Excellent stamina is required. Always wear appropriate safety protection devices or clothing. Must be a team player. Excellent customer service Knowledge of basic math (measuring, weight in pounds) Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Ability to use basic power and hand tools such as grinders and drills in the production and assembly of signs and related components. Assists in the assembly of signs. Assists in the fabrication of raceways. Other duties as assigned by production manager. Keep work area clean and free from safety hazards. May be required to do simple calculations and measurements as part of the production of parts. Properly clean and secure power machinery when work is completed. Properly clean and return hand tools when work is completed. Assists in the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal signs. Work may involve any of the following. Setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal. Shaping metal over forms using hammer or hand pressure Operating welding equipment to join metal parts. Inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces. COMPENSATION: Corresponding with your skill level. 40-hour work week (Monday-Friday) with occasional overtime.
